When donating to a charitable cause, it is important to know where exactly the money is going to, and how your contribution makes an impact. This is why at the Expedition Club, we want to clearly outline how your donations will be used and maintain transparency.
1. Education
Your contribution will directly support scholarships for both US students travelling on an expedition, and Thai students attending higher education. Since our belief is to provide the best educational opportunities to all students regardless of their socioeconomic status, we strive to offer scholarships to motivated individuals who would not otherwise be able to experience an expedition. We keep this same belief for offering educational opportunities for students in our communities abroad. Since many families in developing nations cannot afford to send their children to secondary school, we support students through the P'Yui Scholarship Fund. Your contribution will directly impact a student and will quench their thirst to learn, as they are given the opportunity to further pursue their education.
You will empower a student through education.
2. Development
Your contribution will support our mission to share the world. Since we strongly believe in the power that learning communities have, we are constantly seeking new and innovative environments for youth to share the world and learn new perspectives. Learning from a textbook is easy and less costly; however, we value providing youth with the opportunity to expand their potential and creating depth in their education through hands on learning.
You will support innovative ways to learn.
3. Sustainability
Your contribution will go to sustaining communities. After an expedition it sometimes can be easy to forget what it was like to share the world with someone. It is our goal and vision for the future to sustain communities. We do this by creating physical projects – building an English library in Phapang or organic gardens that students must care for year-round. Reminders, projects, and meeting points. We also do this by less tangible projects as well – newsletters, social media. You will encourage youth to continue to share the world.
With our strong belief in education, development, and sustainability, we strive to create communities of people who want to share the world, not just change it. It is important to not only think about the individual tasks but the overall mission - and what that mission would mean for the world. Imagine a world of people who believe in this fundimental aspet - sharing. To share skills, emotions, resources. But, also to share the world, to live together, to try to understand one another.
We share the world one expedition at a time.
